We are recruiting General Porters to provide high-standard portering services across Weston General Hospital. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a patient-friendly environment.
This rota is Monday - Sunday, working every other weekend, on a 14-week rolling schedule. Shifts start as early as 7am and finish as late as midnight.
Daily tasks include:
* Providing portering and messenger services, including transferring patients and visitors between wards and departments.
* Collecting and delivering goods such as drugs, bloods, furniture, case notes, specimens, x-rays, and medical gas cylinders.
* Handling mail and hospital deliveries.
* Loading and unloading deliveries.
* Transferring furniture and portable equipment.
* Maintaining confidentiality and attending trust training.
* Responding to emergency calls, including cardiac arrest, fire, and major trauma.

* Ability to work collaboratively in a team.

* Initiative and proactive attitude.
* Understanding of respectful communication with patients, families, and staff.
