This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for practical, hands-on learning who can inspire and support young people with additional needs. About the Role You will be responsible for delivering engaging mechanics-based lessons to students with a range of Special Educational Needs, including SEMH, behavioural challenges, and moderate learning difficulties. Lessons focus on practical skills, vocational learning, and building confidence, with excellent support from a dedicated SEN team. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver mechanics lessons tailored to individual learning needs. Create a safe and structured workshop environment for practical work. Adapt teaching styles to support students with varying levels of ability and emotional needs. Build strong, positive relationships to encourage participation and progress. Collaborate with SEN specialists, teaching assistants, and pastoral staff. Maintain high standards of safety, safeguarding, and behaviour management. About You Experience teaching Mechanics, Motor Vehicle Studies, Engineering, or a similar vocational subject. Strong understanding of practical workshop safety. Previous experience with SEN or SEMH students is advantageous but not essential. Patient, resilient, and able to build trust with learners who may have faced barriers to education. Able to adapt your approach to meet individual needs.
