Job Title: MHO Operator FLT/Excavator/Loading Shovel/Skidsteer Location: Liverpool Licences Required: RTITB/ITSAR/NPORS Working Hours: 07:00-19:00/19:00-07:00 Position Overview: McGinley Supports Services is looking for experienced MHO Operatives to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the safe and efficient movement of cargo. We are looking for : FLT drivers Loading Shovel Operators Excavator Operators Skidsteer Operators Key Responsibilities: Operating MHO and mobile plant safely within an active port environment Loading and unloading vessels, trucks, trailers, and containers Transporting cargo between quay, shed, storage, and transport areas Stacking, positioning, and securing cargo in line with load plans and instructions Supporting vessel operations including discharge and load-out activities Carrying out pre-use and post-use inspections of all machinery and reporting defects Following port traffic management systems and pedestrian exclusion zones Communicating clearly with bandsman, supervisors, and control rooms via radio Ensuring cargo integrity and preventing damage during handling operations Adhering to all port safety procedures, risk assessments, and method statements Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within operational areas Assisting with minor routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment Working flexibly across shifts to meet operational demands Immediately reporting incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions Complying with environmental controls including spill prevention and waste handling Ideal Candidate: Recent experience driving a Forklift Truck (Reach or Counterbalance)/Excavator/Loading Shovel is essential Training in COSHH and Manual Handling is preferable Experience working in ports, terminals, docks, or heavy industrial environments (preferred) Valid tickets/certification for relevant plant and machinery Strong understanding of health & safety within high-risk operational settings Immediate Start Available!
