This well‑regarded Real Estate Finance team is one of the largest in the London mid‑market, advising across the full spectrum of property finance matters. The practice acts for a broad range of lenders, including established institutions, alternative lenders, specialist property finance providers, funds and family offices, while also advising borrowers such as developers and investment funds on domestic and cross‑border financing transactions.
Led by a Spears 500 recognised partner, the team combines exceptional technical knowledge with extensive experience, creating the ideal environment for junior lawyers to learn from market leaders and gain early exposure to high‑profile cases.
The Role
The firm is seeking an Associate to join its busy and dynamic Real Estate Finance department. This is an exciting opportunity to take on real responsibility from the outset, with clear future scope to build your own client base while working on a diverse range of high‑profile matters.
The role offers professional development, working side‑by‑side with partners and other senior solicitors, gaining invaluable experience in international and domestic matters across sectors such as:
* Secured lending
* Bridging finance
* Islamic finance
* Stretched senior loans
* Whole loan funding
* Loan on loan facilities
* Acquisition finance with an underlying property asset
* Equity investment
* PRS/Build to rent financing
* Hotel financing
* Student accommodation funding
* Co‑living funding
* Loans to high net worth individuals on high value residential acquisitions
* Restructuring and enforcement of loans, including security reviews
* Inter‑creditor arrangements
Additional responsibilities include advising on financing structures such as syndicated, club and bilateral loans (senior or mezzanine), and newer A/B structures. You will regularly advise on complex, innovative and unusual funding solutions for borrowers and assist them in negotiating loan documents with their funders.
Requirements
* 2 – 4 years’ PQE (England & Wales) Real Estate Finance Solicitor.
* Commercial awareness and enthusiasm to develop sector knowledge, contribute to know‑how and support business development.
* Team‑oriented approach with flexibility to thrive in the firm’s hybrid working environment.
* Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly.
* Professionally experienced in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment.
