Offer description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Manager to join the Infrastructure team within the Unified Communications Division at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Unified Communications Infrastructure team has a broad role in enabling communication across the hospitals. This includes telephony, mobile and unified communications services as well as infrastructure supporting IT services for these highly regarded hospitals.

The Infrastructure Manager role is key in delivering and managing the primary Data Centre and over 100 cab room environments, all layer one infrastructure as well as telephony services across the Biomedical Campus. You will have good project management and presentation skills to deliver the necessary programmes of work.

This is a Linked Grade role, with the salary dependent on experience. It is a requirement of the role for the postholder to hold a Certified Data Centre Management Professional (CDCMP) certification or equivalent cabling or networking accreditation. If you do not meet the criteria for qualifications, the starting grade will be Band 6, progressing to Band 7 following successful completion of the certification within the first year in post.

Responsibilities

* To deliver and manage the tier 2/3 standard Data Centre and cab room infrastructure to meet high availability targets.
* To be responsible for drafting standards, protocols, prioritising and managing an uplift programme to deliver all aspects of the warranted cab room environment for the above (including cooling, uninterrupted power, environmental monitoring and reporting) across the CUH estate.
* To be responsible for cabling standards for voice and data services ensuring all performance and fire safety requirements are met.
* To support the service desk engineers in managing VoIP, hybrid and mobile telephony services across the Trust.
* To work alongside a number of other Trust departments, third party service providers and contractors to meet these requirements.
* To take part in the duty engineer arrangements for the team, supporting the duty engineer and the Service Desk Manager when required to do so, so that a consistent level of technical support is provided to the organisation. This will require being part of an on-call rota.

Eligibility

* Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa. Therefore, please be advised that if you are a Student visa holder, we will not be able to offer you a full time permanent contract unless you have applied for a Graduate visa, or you will have successfully completed your course and have applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of your employment, or the Trust has agreed that they will Sponsor you as a Skilled Worker and you will complete your studies within 3 months of the anticipated start date of employment.
* For NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough based roles, all applicants from NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough who have identified that they are at risk of redundancy will be prioritised over those not at risk. However, interviews cannot be guaranteed.

Band 6: £38,682 - £46,580 p.a. pro rata
Band 7: £47,810 - £54,710 p.a. pro rata

We offer development opportunities and a wide range of benefits, including on-site leisure facilities, shopping concourse and day nurseries. Our good work programme currently includes providing reduced cost Stagecoach bus travel to and from Cambridge University Hospital site. Park and Ride bus journeys between Babraham Road and Trumpington sites are free, as is the route to and from Cambridge train station and our hospitals. We also subsidise the cost of parking on site for eligible staff.
On CUH campus, hot food is available 24/7 and at a reduced cost for colleagues. Recently we launched the first of our staff pod break spaces. Located in the Deakin Centre, we have a purpose-created colleague-only café, with free tea and coffee, a break space and private outside area for colleagues to rest, refuel and recharge. Just one of the ways we are working hard to support good working days at CUH.
