Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight/Broad Oak, Portsmouth
Salary: Up to £50,000 depending on skills and experience
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of radar technology. Your responsibilities will include:
* Applying systems engineering principles (ISO 15288) to guide the design of systems throughout the entire engineering lifecycle—from requirement definition to system integration and customer acceptance.
* Decomposing requirements to system and sub-system levels, managing them in approved toolsets like IBM DOORS Next.
* Conducting system design decomposition and modeling, including defining internal and external interfaces, using tools such as CATIA Magic (Cameo).
* Defining acceptance strategies to verify requirement compliance at each design level, supporting the production of customer acceptance evidence.
* Assisting with technical reviews and verification of engineering designs and documentation in line with business, legislative, and customer requirements.
* Collecting and analyzing real-world system data to understand performance, reliability, and usage patterns, driving evidence-based improvements.
* Analyzing large, complex datasets using statistical techniques and visualization tools to identify trends and inform design decisions.
Your Skills and Experiences:
We’re looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:
* A degree or equivalent in a technology, engineering, or science-related discipline.
* A solid understanding of engineering lifecycle principles and the ability to apply systems thinking to complex problems.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Systems Engineering.
* Proficiency in data analysis on large datasets using statistical methods, scripting languages (e.g., MATLAB), and data visualization tools.
* Hands-on experience with complex systems to collect, validate, and interpret operational data is a plus.
