Lincoln Golf Club is pleased to invite applications for the position of Head Chef. This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced culinary professional to lead the catering provision at one of Lincolnshire's most prestigious golf clubs.
With a membership exceeding 650 and a reputation for delivering high-quality golf throughout the year, the Club offers significant scope for a motivated Head Chef to enhance and expand an already successful hospitality operation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role within a small, collaborative team, demonstrating initiative, flexibility, and a hands-on approach to all aspects of kitchen management
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and present dishes to consistently high standards
* Lead and supervise the catering team, ensuring quality is maintained in your absence
* Design and develop menus that reflect member preferences while remaining cost-effective
* Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
* Uphold exemplary standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness
* Collaborate with the Bar Manager to produce weekly staff rotas for catering and bar teams
Catering Scope
The Head Chef will be responsible for delivering a diverse range of catering services, including:
* Formal dinners and club functions
* Match meals, society bookings, and corporate events
* Private functions accommodating up to 150 guests
* Daily bar snacks and light meals, served seven days a week
* Hot and cold food service at the Halfway House
There is also scope to develop additional revenue streams through member-focused initiatives such as themed dining evenings and Sunday lunches.
Qualifications and Skills
* Minimum 5 years' experience as a chef in a professional kitchen (preferred)
* Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen operations
* Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent)
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Commitment to delivering high-quality food with attention to presentation
* Flexibility to work across weekdays, weekends, and occasional evenings
* Full UK driving licence (preferred)
