We are recruiting for a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner at Forward Trust, where we deliver a range of drug and alcohol services within prison environments. Our support includes advice, health and wellbeing, motivational work, clinical services, and group treatment programs.
The services we provide in prisons are commissioned by NHS England and delivered in partnership with healthcare providers and HMPPS, emphasizing integration and partnership.
Our mission is to support individuals affected by substance issues to create lasting change and reduce dependency, homelessness, unemployment, and reoffending.
Role Responsibilities
As a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP), your role involves assessing service users for suitability for evidence-based psychological interventions for common mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. You will deliver a range of low-level psychological step 2 interventions to adults either face-to-face or through facilitating therapeutic groups. You will contribute to team performance and ensure high-quality service delivery in line with IAPT standards.
You will participate in case management and line management supervision, supporting the service to meet quality standards. All prison-based roles require an enhanced DBS check and HMPPS security vetting, which can take 3-6 weeks. Offers are contingent upon receiving these clearances.

The Ideal Candidate
* Experience in comprehensive risk assessments, including risk to self and others
* Experience delivering Step 2 Psychological interventions
* Understanding of IAPT and stepped care concepts
* Interest in motivating and developing people
* Strong project and time management skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to diverse individuals
* Knowledge of evidence-based psychological interventions
* Flexibility to meet service needs and ability to work across sites
* Previous experience in a prison environment
* Experience working with individuals with common mental health issues like anxiety and depression
