Job Title: Associate Director of Structural Engineering
Our client, a successful and well-established civil and structural design practice based in Leicester, is seeking an AD level Structural Engineer to lead and manage their team across residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use development projects.
Candidate Requirements:
* Minimum 2:1 BSc/BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
* At least 10 years post-qualification experience in civil and structural engineering
* Full UK driving license and own transport
* Chartered status (MICE or MIStructE)
Key Responsibilities:
* Applying detailed knowledge of structural design and detailing using relevant UK and European codes
* Developing preliminary design solutions and reviewing them with clients
* Producing detailed designs, calculations, specifications, and conducting technical reviews
* Participating in design, project progress, and client meetings
* Liaising with contractors, clients, third-party organizations, and stakeholders to address technical queries
* Designing in various construction materials including steelwork, concrete, masonry, and timber
* Conducting structural appraisals of commercial, industrial, and residential structures
* Managing project costs and schedules
* Overseeing sustainability criteria compliance
* Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations
* Producing sketches, drawings, and structural appraisal reports
* Supervising CAD/Revit technicians and junior engineers, including QA reviews
* Engaging in business development activities and client relationship management
