Supply Nursery Practitioner
Location: Nursery class within a primary school in GrimsbyContract: Full time (Summer term)Pay Rate: £90–£100 per day
About the Role
We are looking for a caring, committed, and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join the Nursery team of a welcoming primary school in the Grimsby area for the Summer term.
This is a supply-based role, but you will be working specifically within the school’s Nursery class, supporting staff and contributing to statutory EYFS ratios. This is an ideal position for those enthusiastic about early childhood development who enjoy working as part of a nurturing, play-focused early years environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Nursery & EYFS Classroom Support
* Supporting children aged 3–4 within the school’s Nursery class
* Contributing to adult-to-child ratios in line with EYFS requirements
* Assisting with high-quality delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum
* Promoting child-led, play-based learning through engaging activities
* Helping to prepare stimulating learning environments and resources
* Ensuring a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom
One-to-One & Additional Needs Support
* Supporting children with additional or emerging needs, including SEND
* Encouraging communication, social interaction, and independence
* Assisting with early literacy, numeracy, and personal development
* Working collaboratively with the class teacher, EYFS lead, and SENCO
Care, Wellbeing & Behaviour
* Supporting children’s emotional development and self-regulation
* Promoting positive behaviour using consistent routines and clear expectations
* Assisting with personal care when required, in line with school policies
* Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and welfare at all times
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will:
* Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (required for ratio purposes)
* Be nurturing, patient, and passionate about supporting early years learners
* Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
* Be reliable, punctual, and professional
* Have good knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and safeguarding practices
* Bring experience from early years or school-based settings (preferred)
* Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply
