Offer description

Are you a highly experienced Registered Nurse, Paramedic or Allied Health Professional with advanced clinical practice skills and a passion for urgent care? We are developing a senior clinical workforce to support our Urgent Care, Extended Access and Out of Hours services, providing expert care in a dynamic and often high risk environment.

This is an opportunity to work as a senior autonomous clinician, delivering advanced assessment, diagnosis and management of patients presenting with complex, high risk and undifferentiated minor illness and injury. You will work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, sometimes without immediate GP support, using expert clinical judgement and decision making to ensure safe and effective care.

In addition to direct patient care, you will provide clinical leadership during Out of Hours periods, supporting colleagues, managing clinical risk and helping to maintain patient flow and service resilience.

What we offer:

* Flexible working across Extended Access and Out of Hours services
* A senior clinical role with real influence on patient care and service delivery
* Opportunities to lead, mentor and develop other clinicians
* Exposure to complex and varied presentations requiring advanced practice

Our team is committed to high quality care, strong clinical leadership and mutual support. If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding senior role where you can make a significant difference, we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

You will be a senior practitioner with advanced clinical skills, working across Urgent Care, Extended Access and OOH services to deliver safe, effective and high quality care to patients.

Key responsibilities include:

* Undertake advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of complex, high risk and undifferentiated presentations
* Make independent decisions relating to treatment, discharge, admission avoidance and escalation, accepting responsibility for clinical risk
* Provide senior clinical leadership during Out of Hours periods, supporting Band 7 clinicians and other team members
* Assess, diagnose, treat and appropriately refer or signpost patients, considering comorbidities, frailty and complex psychosocial factors
* Deliver care through telephone consultations, face to face appointments and home visits where appropriate
* Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team including GPs, ensuring continuity, safety and quality of care
* Support service delivery under pressure, managing demand, prioritisation and patient flow
* Maintain high standards of clinical governance, safety and patient‑centred care

This role requires excellent clinical judgement, confidence in managing uncertainty and a strong commitment to delivering high quality urgent care within a complex and evolving service.
