The Opportunity
This role is ideal for a midlevel Accounts Assistant who enjoys variety, thrives in a handson environment, and feels confident managing core transactional finance tasks with minimal supervision. You'll support a busy finance function with daytoday accounting duties, working closely with the Finance Manager and wider operations team.
It's a great fit for someone who is selfdriven, highly organised, and enjoys being a completerfinisher, seeing tasks through accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
You will take responsibility for a full range of transactional finance duties, including:
Banking & Reconciliations
1. Daily bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
2. "Closing off" banking at dayend and monthend
3. Monitoring cash postings and ensuring accuracy
Accounts Payable (AP)
4. Processing supplier invoices
5. Matching, batching, coding, and posting invoices
6. Supplier statement reconciliations
7. Supporting payment runs
Accounts Receivable (AR)
8. Raising sales invoices
9. Allocating customer receipts
10. Assisting with credit control tasks when required
General Ledger & MonthEnd Support
11. Preparing journals (accruals, prepayments, adjustments)
12. Assisting with monthend closing tasks
13. Supporting balance sheet reconciliations
Other Duties
14. Supporting internal departments with finance queries
15. Maintaining accurate electronic records
16. Supporting process improvements and efficiencies
17. Adhoc finance tasks as required
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
18. Previous experience in a busy accounts assistant or finance administrator role
19. Strong understanding of transactional finance (AP, AR, banking, reconciliations)
20. Confident and selfsufficient and able to get on with tasks with minimal supervision
21. High accuracy and attention to detail
22. A "cando" attitude and willingness to muck in across the team
23. Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
24. Competent with general accounting software and Excel
Desirable (but not essential)
25. Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or operational environment
26. Prior exposure to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (training provided)
27. Experience supporting monthend processes
