Transport Planner – Slough
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading logistics company for a skilled Transport Planner to join their dynamic team based in Slough. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient movement of freight and cargo operations through effective planning, coordination, and management of land‑based transport while adhering to strict safety and security regulations.
Job Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Night Shift (4 on 4 off, 19:00 - 07:00)
Location: Slough
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £40,000 per annum (basic, negotiable)
Responsibilities
* Plan and coordinate freight and cargo operations.
* Collaborate with transport operations to deliver excellent service.
* Provide detailed handovers and maintain communication between shifts.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
* Meet and exceed target metrics consistently.
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 2 years of transport planning experience.
* Knowledge of air and road logistics.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* IT literacy and ability to work under pressure.
* Adaptable, able to think on your feet.
* Experience working in a busy office environment.
Requirements
* 5‑year full working history and eligibility to work in the UK.
* ADR & hazardous awareness training to Level D (Cargo ops) or willingness to receive training.
* Full clean driver’s licence; forklift licence optional.
* Professional appearance and good communication skills.
