AtkinsRéalis has a vacancy for a Senior Building Surveyor to work in a multi-disciplinary environment, delivering a full range of Building Surveying duties. The role can be based in either our London (Nova North) or Epsom offices, with options for remote working. We offer varied and interesting projects with high-profile public and private sector clients.
This role is ideal for a Chartered Building Surveyor with post-qualification experience who enjoys collaborative work, managing client relationships, and providing excellent service. The candidate should have strong technical skills, commercial awareness, and leadership qualities to mentor junior colleagues.
Responsibilities
1. Managing multiple projects across different sectors, including building surveys, project management, and contract administration.
2. Developing new business and maintaining client relationships.
3. Applying standard building contracts like JCT and NEC.
4. Staying updated on industry developments and best practices.
5. Managing frameworks and delivering commissions under agreements.
6. Experience in sectors such as education, local authorities, healthcare, government, and infrastructure.
7. Conducting defect analysis, surveys, and preparing reports and specifications.
8. Understanding quality, health, safety, and environmental principles in project management.
9. Contributing to the growth of AtkinsRéalis through fee-earning opportunities.
Additional Duties
* Supporting senior management in daily operations.
* Handling project management and contract duties for larger projects.
* Performing due diligence, condition, and measured surveys.
* Leading small to medium construction projects.
* Providing professional services such as Party Walls, asset management, and statutory applications.
Requirements
* BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying, RICS accredited.
* Full member of RICS.
* Proven all-round surveying experience.
* Experience in pre and post-contract project management.
* Willingness to travel.
* Strong IT skills, including Word, Excel, AutoCAD, NBS, and Revit (advantage).
* Understanding of BIM Level 2.
* Leadership skills, including mentoring.
* Experience managing client expectations.
* Compliance with legal, professional, and corporate standards.
