Job Summary
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our expanding Aseptic Services team based at Borders General Hospital. The brand‑new cleanroom facility will operate under Section 10 exemption and provide vital IV Systemic Anti‑Cancer Therapies (SACT), Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) and high‑risk CIVA service, supplying safe, high‑quality aseptic products to adult patients across the site.
Responsibilities
* Assist and supervise the dispensing of IV SACT, TPN and high risk CIVAS items, including reviewing prescriptions for clinical appropriateness and undertaking the final check and release of finished products.
* Supervise and support foundation pharmacists who rotate through Aseptic.
* Undertake documentation review, internal and external audit and change management to continually improve the quality of the Aseptic Service.
* Provide pharmaceutical care to patients within cancer and palliative care.
Qualifications
* GPhC‑registered Pharmacist.
* Completion of post‑registration foundation training or equivalent experience.
* Understanding of GMP, MHRA guidance and quality standards.
* Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills.
* A team player with the confidence to lead and curiosity to learn.
* Demonstration of patient‑focused pharmaceutical care provision.
