Role Overview
As a Principal Clean Water Engineer you will provide technical leadership and guidance to a water engineering team working on a range of modelling and network analysis projects. Your work will support both internal and external clients, advancing technical quality and service efficiency while driving business growth.
Typical Week
* Lead technical delivery and provide guidance to the project team.
* Act as client liaison and prepare technical reports.
* Assist in preparing proposals within current frameworks and developing new clients.
* Train and mentor junior staff.
* Develop and maintain project‑related health and safety strategies, including risk assessments.
* Operate in accordance with corporate health and safety, environmental, and quality standards and ensure the team complies with those standards.
Qualifications & Experience
* Relevant degree and professional qualification; membership of ICE/CIWEM or equivalent.
* Significant experience in network modelling and analysis, including emerging optimizer technologies.
* Experience in detailed water supply network analysis and leading modelling teams for projects such as site condition reports.
* Ensure safety and technical excellence are incorporated via CDM 2015 and design reviews.
* Coordinate design to ensure good interface with other disciplines and participate in technical audits.
* Contribute to multi‑discipline design programmes, cost and time control, and delivery processes.
* Generate cost and man‑hour estimates for proposals, studies and projects.
* Serve as lead modelling engineer on selected projects, controlling design, specifications, cost, hours, quality, and programme.
* Stay current with developments in the CW modelling sector, making technical presentations to clients, colleagues and at conferences.
* Develop the expertise of modelling and wider engineering teams.
