we are on the lookout for a Commercial Manager to join our team in Burton-on-Trent.
About the Role
Reporting into the Regional Director, the successful Commercial Manager will be responsible for developing the local commercial strategy that supports the effective delivery of Tarmac’s national contracting strategy, business plans, and objectives. You will identify and secure key commercial opportunities to deliver budgeted volumes, margin expectations, and growth, whilst ensuring objectives and targets are achieved.
What you'll be doing
In this role, you as the successful Commercial Manager will carry out the following duties and responsibilities (not exhaustive):
1. Contribute to the effective development and delivery of the business unit’s commercial strategy
2. Lead in identifying and securing a pipeline of commercial opportunities
3. Manage valuations and final accounts; ensure Tarmac maximizes its value from monthly invoicing of customers
4. Prepare and finalize month-end accounts in line with management procedures
5. Ensure quality and competitive tenders are submitted and targeted contracts are won, considering margins, financial, and contractual risks
6. Manage and oversee the production and submission of all tender information related to commercial functions
7. Develop and maintain commercial relationships with new and existing customers to expand market share
8. Ensure policies and procedures comply with legislation
9. Manage and report on cash flow
10. Effectively manage and coach all direct reports
