Baird Wardis an acute respiratory/medical ward supported by ward-based Consultants. Patients are admitted from A&E, AAU, and ITU/HDU when ready for ward-level care. Our goal is to deliver excellent patient care, reduce hospital stay length, and maintain patient flow. This is achieved through daily multidisciplinary meetings involving the Hospital Intervention Team, Social Services, medical teams, and nursing staff to review each patient’s needs, management plan, and discharge pathway.
We are seeking experienced Clinical Support Workers. Hospital experience is desirable but not essential. Applicants must have GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4), or Functional Skills, plus a Care Certificate or NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent). Responsibilities include delegated clinical procedures (e.g., cannula removal), physiological observations, patient escorting, personal care, documentation, and booking hospital transport.
Successful candidates will complete an induction including all mandatory Trust training. We welcome motivated individuals committed to high standards of care and professional development. You must work well in a team, use initiative, and communicate effectively. The role will be toprovide delegated clinical procedures such as removal of cannula, undertake physiological observations, escort patients from clinical areas, provide personal care and accurately document all interventions. You will also be responsible for booking Hospital transport to take patients home.
