Post : Project Housing Worker – Maternity Cover (9-12 Months)
Location: Sanctuary Trust – Rochdale
Salary : SCP20, (£24,570 per annum Full Time)
£40 per night night sleep in allowance
Hours: Average of 29.5 hours per week; comprising 7 x 24 hour sleep-in shifts every 4 weeks, with shift allowance covering 8 hours per night.
Qualifications: No specific formal qualifications required, previous experience and knowledge of Homelessness, accommodation projects and voluntary services would be advantageous. Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is required (can be obtained). NVQ 2 Training towards NVQ level 3
Special duties : Unsociable hours of work in accordance with the needs of the Project are required.
Purpose and objects of job
The post entails working in emergency accommodation. The post holder will be responsible for the day by day operation of the project which includes meeting the needs of homeless people who may have been sleeping rough. The post holder will work within the overall ethos of the Charity.
* Assist in the provision of, adequate staffing cover at any one time to operate and supervise the unit.
* Ensure that a responsible and consistent standard of service is continually offered to service users.
* Admission of new residents, assessment of immediate needs, provision of food and a warm, clean, safe living environment.
* Participate in active liaison with statutory and voluntary bodies relevant to the work, strategy and ethos of the unit and to communicate effectively with the said agencies.
* Ensure that accurate records of referrals, admissions and departures of residents are kept and updated regularly in conjunction with the project managers.
* Attend meetings of the team as required by the Management and or the Management Committee.
* Implement and maintain best advice techniques to residents in respect of their individual needs.
* Work effectively as either a team member or on own initiative in order that the unit functions in an integrated manner.
* Engage in required training, E-learning, and CPD to stay updated with relevant practices, policies, and regulatory compliance
Secondary duties
* To implement Sanctuary company policy and procedure in a conscientious manner.
* To display diplomacy and tact and time management skills to the benefit of the residents.
* To assist in the analysis and solving of problems whether of residents or staff.
* To implement and actively promote new initiatives in conjunction with the manager and senior project workers, to changes within the unit.
* Any other duties as directed by the Senior Management or Project Leaders.

All money donated encourages the resident of Halsall House who will be able to see the rewards of their efforts- showing our residents that there's a whole world out there waiting to be enjoyed, free from the confines of addiction.
