About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting children with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language delays. Your role will involve working closely with students to provide tailored support, help with classroom activities, and ensure that each student can access their education to the fullest. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN. Assist in the delivery of tailored lesson plans and classroom activities. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Encourage students to build social, emotional, and academic skills. Monitor students' progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents. Assist with personal care needs when required and help students with mobility or other needs. Follow behaviour management strategies and support students in managing their emotions. Job Requirements: Prior experience supporting children or young people with SEN in a school, residential, or care setting is desirable. A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN support (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is advantageous. A calm, patient, and adaptable approach, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A robust understanding of various SEN conditions, including autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). Why Join GSL Education?
