We're looking for a Food Safety and Quality Control Inspector to join our professional, friendly team.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Food Safety and Quality Control Inspector, you'll carry out inspections across the North East, supporting both supply chain and hospitality clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Inspecting fresh and prepared produce in distribution centres and supermarkets (often chilled environments).
· Conducting hygiene, food safety, and health & safety inspections at food outlets and pubs.
· Assessing quality against client specifications – including size, freshness, condition, packaging, and weight.
· Checking compliance with safety and hygiene requirements – including cleaning, pest control, staff training, COSHH, food handling, and record-keeping.
· Recording inspections and non-conformances accurately using our digital inspection app.
· Writing clear, concise reports for clients.
· Communicating effectively with colleagues, clients and site managers.
· Travelling to multiple locations each week and representing Audit Point professionally.
· Working independently while ensuring quality and safety standards are upheld.
What You Need to Succeed
We're looking for someone with a strong food industry or hospitality background and ideally a relevant qualification in Food Safety, Quality, or Health & Safety. Experience in any of the following is valuable:
· Food quality or technical teams
· Food safety auditing or inspection
· Catering or hospitality operations
· Fresh produce, meat, or food production
· Chefs and catering professionals with a strong focus on quality and hygiene
· Exceptional attention to detail – you can spot issues others might miss
· Proficiency with mobile technology (iPad reporting)
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work independently and manage your schedule
· Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
· Right to work in the UK
The Perks and Package
· Hourly rate: £12.84 per hour
· Mileage reimbursed at 45p per mile for all travel away from your base location

· Flexible, varied schedule (average of 3 days per week, 24 hours total)

· Primary Location is Goldthorpe with further work across multiple locations in the wider North East area.
