We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong background in the furniture industry to drive growth across both public and private sector clients. This role is suited to a proven sales professional who brings an established network, a demonstrable track record, and the ability to build long-term, profitable client relationships. You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, converting leads into revenue, and nurturing key accounts from initial engagement through to repeat business. Key Responsibilities Proactively identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the furniture market Leverage an existing “little black book” of contacts to accelerate pipeline growth Sell furniture solutions to both public sector organisations (including frameworks, local authorities, education, healthcare) and private sector clients Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with decision-makers, specifiers, and procurement teams Manage the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting and presentations through to negotiation and close Work closely with internal teams (design, operations, delivery) to ensure client requirements are met Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and forecasts Represent the business professionally at meetings, events, and industry functions Required Experience & Skills Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or similar senior sales role within the furniture industry A demonstrable track record of winning and growing accounts An established network of relevant industry contacts Strong understanding of both public and private sector sales processes Exceptional relationship-building and client-nurturing skills Confident negotiator with a commercial mindset Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working autonomously Excellent communication and presentation skills On offer is a competitive salary, bonus scheme and car allowance.
