Our client holds outstanding achievements in drug discover for the past 100 years.As a Licensed Animal Technician, you will join a motivated team of Scientists and Clinical Scientists, to accelerate the development of novel cancer therapies and improve understanding of cancer biology, drug sensitivity and resistance. Your role will include supporting preclinical work using genetically modified mouse models and patient as well as cell line derived xenograft models.Main duties:Daily checking of cages and animals for signs of husbandry and welfare requirementsReporting observations to the relevant peopleTo maintain colonies of patient derived tumour lines in-vivoTo maintain colonies of breeding and experimental Transgenic mouse modelsTo run experimental studies at all stagesTo carry out procedures under the authority of the relevant Home Office personal and projectSupervise and training of junior members of staffTo record levels of achievement and expertise in personal training recordsTo ensure adequate provision of food and water as described in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Person Specification:PIL A-C with rodentsSeveral years of experience in the industry as a Senior Animal TechnicianNACWO training is desirableSkills for handling preclinical research mice modelsAbility to conduct basic surgery in particular castration and implantation of tumour tissueExperience in tumour measurements and basic tumour imaging techniquesMust have experience in conducting dosingThis is the perfect opportunity for a Licensed Animal Technician looking to join a successful, world-recognised company.
