We are currently looking for a Senior Site Engineer - Civil to join our UK team within the Thermal Power & HVDC Division of Metlen Energy & Metals. This is a UK-wide search, and we welcome applications from suitable candidates based across the country.
Overview
This is a key on‑site role where you’ll take ownership of civil works delivery on major energy projects. As a Senior Site Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of construction activity – coordinating teams, ensuring quality and safety standards, and driving progress on critical infrastructure that supports the energy transition.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate daily activities of subcontractors on site
* Ensure works are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards
* Review and interpret construction drawings and technical plans
* Enforce site safety procedures and promote a strong HSE culture
* Carry out inspections and quality control checks
* Report progress, risks and issues to project management
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
* 6+ years of experience in construction, ideally within energy or industrial projects
* Proven experience supervising subcontractors on site
* Strong understanding of construction processes and site coordination
* Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
