The trust seeks to appoint a Senior Breast Clinical Fellow to join the General Surgery department at Hillingdon Hospital for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role will focus primarily on breast surgery.
The post is essential to support the ongoing expansion of the Breast and General Surgical services. The department comprises 8 substantive consultants, including 3 Breast consultants, along with locum consultants, middle grade, and junior staff.
The senior Breast fellow will primarily work with the Breast unit at Mount Vernon Hospital, which is based in a new purpose-built Breast unit. The role involves a wide variety of oncoplastic breast surgeries, exposure to one-stop clinics, surgical planning, and plastic surgery clinical exposure. The fellow will have opportunities to engage in reconstructive procedures, including implant-based reconstruction, local perforator flaps, and autologous reconstruction at the Royal Free Hospital with Plastic Surgeons.
This is an excellent senior post with scope for professional development in breast surgery and academic pursuits. Support will be provided for CSER applications, and the fellow will be encouraged to undertake audits and participate in national breast trials. Further information can be obtained directly from Mr. Chakravorty, Breast Lead.
