Senior / Building Surveyor - Manchester
Permanent | Leading Real Estate Consultancy | Competitive Package
I'm working with a highly respected, forward‑thinking real estate consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior / Building Surveyor to join their growing Manchester office. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a business that genuinely empowers its people, encourages autonomy and collaboration, and offers a clear route to progression.
About the Employer
The organisation is an established international consultancy with a strong UK presence. Although sizeable, they've retained a culture that feels agile, entrepreneurial and people‑centric. They are privately owned, which allows them to operate differently from the traditional corporate model - offering employees genuine influence, a voice in how the business evolves, and the potential to share in its long‑term success.
Their mission is centred around improving the built environment and creating places that deliver real social and economic value. The team is made up of individuals who are curious, commercially switched‑on and passionate about delivering high‑quality work.
Why This Role Stands Out
* A collaborative, non‑hierarchical environment where your ideas are encouraged
* Exposure to a diverse portfolio of commercial clients
* Autonomy to build and grow your own client relationships
* A genuine pathway to senior leadership roles
* The opportunity to be part of an employee‑ownership structure (unique for a consultancy of this scale)
The Opportunity: Senior / Building Surveyor
You'll be joining a well‑established Building Consultancy team, supporting both professional and project‑based work across commercial real estate. The role provides a healthy mix of autonomy and team collaboration, with the chance to work closely with colleagues across multiple disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver a range of general building surveying services, including technical due diligence, condition surveys, dilapidations and planned maintenance programmes
* Assist with project work and contract administration
* Provide clear, commercially focused technical advice to clients
* Support business development through high‑quality service delivery and relationship building
What We're Looking For
* MRICS or MCIOB qualified
* Strong technical foundation in commercial building surveying
* Confident communicator with excellent report‑writing skills
* A proactive, collaborative working style
