Chronos Energy are looking for a skilled and passionate Design Engineer with experience in on-site work and the commissioning of energy assets and heating networks. (Senior or Intermediate level). This role assists in enhancing project handover and site adoption, conducting site inspections, performing commissioning tests, and improving the technical capabilities and profitability of the Heating network team.
About the Role
As an ideal applicant, you will possess a solid background, expertise in building services, design, installation, and commissioning of heating networks, along with strong on-site skills. Your ability to communicate technical matters effectively, both in writing and verbally, to diverse technical and non-technical audiences will be crucial to your success in this position. The Design Engineer will primarily provide site assistance to the Design and Adoption Manager and Senior Project Manager as a part of the technical team.
Responsibilities
* Design Reviews
* Review and check mechanical design drawings; prepare high-level design sketches and indicative schematics if required.
* Prepare acceptance test criteria and methodology and present them to the commissioning contractor and developer.
* Review of documentation, e.g. basis of designs, technical/design specifications, procurement specifications, assessment reports, and survey reports, tailored to the required stage of project completion, covering aspects of mechanical services in heating systems.
* Checking and reviewing detailed calculations and technical submittals and responding to RFIs.
* Advising on all energy consumption and utilisation aspects with recommendations to improve energy performance.
* Compliance with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, current legislation and standards associated with all engineering aspects of the delegated project.
* Site commissioning inspections
* Conduct site inspection and acceptance tests of the energy assets.
* Assess and inspect the installation and commissioning of heating network assets and energy centre equipment to ensure they reflect the heating system's design criteria.
* Implement detailed site inspection of mechanical and heating network services and equipment to establish the status of the existing installations and gain sufficient information to recommend new/upgraded design and installation proposals.
* Monitor the design and project management of building services elements of projects within agreed programmes and ensure that all comply with the design specification, employer requirements and British standards.
* Provide technical support to O&M team, reviewing and approving O&M Contractor proposals, and inspection / acceptance of O&M Contractor works.

Qualifications
