Job Description
Provide professional, engaging, and friendly service consistently.
Support the Housekeeping Department administratively and assist the Director of Rooms and Executive Housekeeper.
Attend departmental meetings as scheduled.
Supervise daily departmental operations to ensure service standards are met.
Maintain cleanliness of guest rooms, laundry, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to high standards.
Monitor labor costs, ensure effective scheduling, and departmental productivity.
Control departmental inventory and purchasing, balancing quality and cost.
Collaborate with the Chief Engineer on preventative maintenance programs.
Address guest concerns promptly, log issues, notify relevant departments, and follow up on resolutions.
Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Coach, counsel, and manage team performance.
Manage departmental accrual processes.
Assist in recruiting, training, and developing housekeeping staff.
Inspect fixtures and furnishings regularly, report deficiencies.
Coordinate with Front Office/Duty Managers regarding room status and availability.
Update property management system promptly.
Record and store lost property according to company policy.
Oversee laundry services, ensuring guest laundry is returned in good condition.
Monitor staff attendance and assist with daily work scheduling.
Ensure compliance with brand standards, LQA, and Forbes standards.
Assist in training colleagues and providing necessary equipment and materials.
Communicate shift information via log books and briefings.
Qualifications
Associate Degree in Tourism or Hospitality Management.
Supervisory management experience is an asset.
