GSL Education is working alongside a friendly and successful Multi Academy Trust in Gateshead and is looking for recent graduates who plan to study PGCE qualifications and want to gain school experience in the meantime.
We are seeking graduates in any subject with a career goal involving teaching. As part of a team of teaching assistants, you will gain experience supporting secondary-aged pupils both one-to-one and in larger class groups.
As a Graduate TA, the ideal candidate will work within a friendly and supportive classroom team to boost academic outcomes and motivate students. You will collaborate with the wider team to identify areas where students need improvement and assist in delivering sessions. These sessions may include input into lesson planning at a later stage.
The role requires a commitment from Monday to Friday, with working hours from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm (TBC). This is an immediate, long-term position. The role is varied and engaging, requiring patience, kindness, tenacity, and the ability to build rapport and foster positive relationships with learners.
Requirements for the Graduate TA Secondary role:
* Ability to work effectively alongside teachers and support students
* Confidence in delivering small, effective sessions
* Good proficiency in Maths and English
* Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
* Kindness, enthusiasm, proactivity, and strong organisational skills
* Previous experience in schools or childcare settings is desirable but not essential
* A degree or equivalent qualification
* Confident, friendly, and hardworking
