Overview
Serco is contracted to provide Total Facilities Management to the Defence Academy of the UK (DA). This prestigious establishment is responsible for post-graduate education and the majority of the command, staff, leadership, Defence management, acquisition and technology training for members of the UK Armed Forces and MOD Civil Servants. Serco supports the DA as the MOD's primary link with UK universities and international military educational institutions.
Working within the Serco Estates Team, the Electrical Work Controller will be responsible for managing sub-contractor activities, PPM, reactive and minor new work. Training will be given for a high-quality individual with the correct personal qualities. This role would suit a high-quality individual looking to make a career in Facilities Management.

Salary: Up To £35,000 Depending Upon Experience
Responsibilities
* Job planning to ensure maximum efficiency.
* Effectively oversee the coordination and programming of reactive, planned maintenance and small project works including but not limited to: emergency lighting, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), street lighting, lightning protection, HV, siren alarm maintenance, PAT testing, generator maintenance, Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), Access systems, Sports Pitch lighting, SFA EICR.
* Raise purchase order requisitions for work in your control.
* Work productively with other Serco personnel, ensuring that their productivity and attitude is not adversely affected by your actions and/or behaviour.
* Update the Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system to ensure jobs do not breach SLAs/KPIs.
* Ensure all confidential information remains within the company and is not relayed in either verbal or written form to persons or organisations outside the company.
* Adhere to all company protocols and procedures.
* To subject all areas of responsibility to continuous review with the objective of identifying and implementing improvement and cost saving measures.
Qualifications
* Demonstrable experience in a similar role—desirable but training given
* Good knowledge and application of H&S and Environmental matters, with particular relevance to those impacting the construction industry essential
* Excellent planning and organisational ability with an analytical, financial and numerate approach to problems
* Highly literate and experienced with IT, demonstrating ability in MS Office - including Email, Outlook, Word and Excel
* Proven ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management and project teams (oral and written)
* Working understanding of relevant regulations, legislation and standards relating to the electrical industry—highly desirable

Security Clearance: MoD Security Clearance. Due to the nature of the organisation, all employees of Serco are required to be security cleared to SC level.
