Job Description:
To provide counseling and counseling-related services to university students. To provide mental health consultation and outreach services to the university community. Minimum Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in counseling, Counseling/Psychology or Social Work from an accredited institution.
2. Working knowledge of the practices, procedures, processes and/or protocols for the provision of counseling services in a mental health agency or college or university counseling center.
3. Working knowledge of college student development.
4. Licensed eligible within one year as a Professional Counselor or Clinical Social Worker.
5. Internship at a University/College Counseling Services or mental health agency.
6. Completion of graduate internship at a mental health agency.
7. Some experience as a counselor in college/university counseling center or in a mental health agency.
Additional Considerations:
8. Prefer licensed in VA as a licensed professional counselor or social worker.
9. Prefer working experience in a college counseling center which includes training practicum and intern students.
10. Prefer Doctoral Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work from an accredited institution.
