Overview
We are partnering with a forward-thinking organisation operating within a heavy industrial environment to support the appointment of an Operations Manager.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in aligning maintenance, production, and wider business functions-driving safe, efficient, and reliable operations across the site. This is a hands-on leadership position that blends day-to-day operational control with long-term strategic development and team growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead safe, efficient, and reliable site operations, aligning maintenance and production
Oversee asset performance and implement proactive, data-driven maintenance strategies
Drive continuous improvement to enhance reliability, productivity, and reduce downtime
Manage production delivery to meet output, quality, and safety standards
Optimise use of labour, materials, and resources to control costs
Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements
Provide strong leadership, coaching, and development for teams
Ensure clear communication across all stakeholders, especially in high-pressure situations
Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively
Contribute to strategic planning and long-term operational improvements
Act as a steady, dependable presence within the leadership team
Operations Manager requirements:
Practical, structured leader with strong technical expertise and sound judgement

Strong communicator across all levels of the business

Experience & Background
Proven experience in maintenance, reliability, or operations within industrial/manufacturing settings
Strong hands-on technical knowledge and credibility
Track record of improving maintenance systems and processes
Confident in 24/7 or continuous operations (with on call as required)
Flexible, collaborative leadership style suited to team-based environments
