Maths Teacher (QTS) Maternity Cover
Prospero Teaching is working with a well-established secondary school in Basingstoke who are seeking a dedicated Qualified Maths Teacher to join them from April 2026 on a full-time maternity cover contract. The school is rated Good by Ofsted (October 2024) and is known for its supportive leadership, strong outcomes, and well-structured Maths curriculum. You will be joining a knowledgeable and collaborative department with clear schemes of work, established routines, and a positive team culture.
The Role
* Teach Mathematics across KS3 and KS4
* Deliver lessons aligned with the AQA GCSE curriculum
* Full teaching responsibilities including planning, marking, assessment, and reporting
* Contribute to departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and moderation
* Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and student progress
* Work collaboratively within a supportive and experienced Maths team
The School Are Looking For
* A fully qualified Maths Teacher with QTS/QTLS
* Strong subject knowledge and confidence delivering AQA GCSE
* Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 in a secondary setting
* A committed classroom practitioner with high expectations of pupil achievement
* Someone who values teamwork and contributes positively to department culture
* A teacher seeking a stable, well-supported role from April 2026

* Salary: Paid to scale (32,916-51,047)
* Key Stages: KS3-KS4
* Curriculum: AQA GCSE
Experience, Training & Safeguarding
* QTS/QTLS required
* Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
* Up-to-date safeguarding training (can be provided)

* Right to work in the UK
* Enhanced DBS on the updated service (or willingness to apply)
* Two recent teaching references
