We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated team delivering services aligned with the Prime Minister’s Challenge on Dementia (2015) and the NHS Long Term Plan for Older Adults Mental Health (2019) in the London Borough of Hounslow.
West London NHS Trust's Cognitive Impairment and Dementia services offer specialist care to patients experiencing cognitive problems and dementia that affect their daily activities.
This community-based Senior Occupational Therapist role reports to a B7 Specialist Occupational Therapist and involves supervising OT apprentices and students. The post is part of the wider Occupational Therapy team across the Tri-boroughs.
The position is based in Hounslow and involves working within a multidisciplinary team to support patients with cognitive impairments requiring dementia screening and diagnosis.
Services include pre- and post-diagnostic support, cognitive rehabilitation, environmental modifications, equipment provision, and advice for carers and families. The team conducts assessments and collaborates with activity coordinators and psychologists to facilitate therapeutic activities.
The service, formerly known as CIDS, now also supports older adults with severe and enduring mental health issues. The OT team is diverse, with comprehensive induction and training programs, and prioritizes staff well-being and career development.
