We are seeking a
Warranty Test Technician
to join our dynamic engineering team in the automotive sector. This hands-on role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and analysing customer warranty returns to identify faults, determine liability, and drive corrective actions that improve product quality and reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct detailed inspection and diagnostics of returned units against specifications.
* Analyse warranty returns, claims, and costs to identify trends and root causes.
* Provide actionable feedback and escalate issues to support warranty cost reduction initiatives.
* Communicate technical findings to internal teams to support corrective and preventative actions.
* Collaborate across departments to improve build quality and reduce warranty claims.
* Maintain calibration systems and ensure all equipment is accurately calibrated.
* Prepare reports and present findings clearly and concisely.
* Contribute to continuous improvement projects and special initiatives as required.
Skills & Experience:
* Previous experience in the automotive industry is essential.
* Understanding of fuel systems, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems (preferred).
* Experience using machinery and hand tools.
* Ability to interpret technical data and carry out root cause analysis.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Qualifications:
* GCSE Level A-C, IVQ Technician certificate, BTEC First Certificate, NVQ Level 2, or equivalent.
* Positive attitude and commitment to quality and company objectives.
