Quality Engineer – Electronics Manufacturing

The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving quality standards throughout the business. You will work closely with the production, engineering, and supply chain teams to identify issues, implement solutions, and ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA, RCCA)
* Review and produce First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
* Investigate and manage non-conformances, concessions, and permits
* Liaise with customers on quality concerns and documentation
* Maintain quality records and ensure compliance with ISO9001 standards
* Support internal and external audits
* Promote continuous improvement across manufacturing processes
* Use a range of inspection tools (manual and/or CMM) to assess product conformity
* Provide support and guidance to other departments on quality issues
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment
* Strong understanding of ISO9001, and related quality systems
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Familiarity with FAIRs, SCARs, and quality control documentation
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Confident communicator, able to work effectively with internal teams and customers
Desirable (but not essential):
* Internal Auditor qualification (ISO9001 or ISO14001)
* Mechanical engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
* Experience working in electronics, defence, or similarly regulated sectors
