Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary academy in Nottingham to recruit a Communication Support Assistant to support students with hearing impairments and communication needs.

About the Role
As a Communication Support Worker, you will play a key role in enabling students with hearing impairments to fully access the curriculum and school environment. Your responsibilities may include:
* Providing communication support for deaf or hearing-impaired students during lessons and school activities.
* Supporting students using British Sign Language (BSL) and other communication strategies where appropriate.
* Helping students access lesson content through adapted communication and learning strategies.
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff to ensure effective inclusion within the classroom.
* Promoting student independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
About You
To be successful in this role, you should:
* Have experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired students in an educational setting.
* Hold a British Sign Language (BSL) qualification or relevant communication support training.
* Have a strong understanding of inclusive education and SEND support practices.
* Be patient, supportive and committed to helping students reach their potential.
* Hold a valid DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
