The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor to join the Infrastructure & Construction team in the Derby office. The role offers the chance to work on high-value, complex matters as part of a collaborative, award-winning department.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting partners and senior lawyers with a broad range of Infrastructure & Construction work
* Managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision
* Providing high-quality legal advice to clients in a timely and commercially sound manner
* Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts and documentation
* Engaging in business development activities, supported by senior team members
* Building and maintaining strong, professional relationships with clients and third parties
* Meeting individual and team billing targets and contributing to wider team success
* Assisting with mentoring or supporting junior colleagues where appropriate
You
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with experience in Infrastructure and/or Construction law and a proactive, commercial mindset.
You will have:
* Qualification as a Solicitor or CILEX with relevant construction/infrastructure experience
* A solid grounding in both contentious and non-contentious matters (or strong knowledge in either)
* Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
* The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work under pressure
* A collaborative and professional approach, with a desire to grow your legal career
* Confidence in developing client relationships and working with a range of stakeholders
* A positive attitude, keen eye for detail, and the drive to make an impact
