Plant fitter
I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a reputable and growing company within the heavy vehicle and plant machinery sector. They are currently seeking an experienced HGV Plant Fitter to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled technician to work with a variety of heavy vehicles and plant equipment in a well-equipped and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs and plant machinery
Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs
Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with operational standards
Respond to breakdowns and carry out on-site repairs when required
Maintain accurate service records and job documentation
Work collaboratively with workshop colleagues to meet deadlines
Manage parts and consumables efficiently
Follow health and safety procedures and company policies
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in the workshopRequirements
Previous experience as an HGV or plant fitter/technician
Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or Plant Engineering)
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Full UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential)
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detailBenefits
