The University of Wolverhampton is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Podiatrist to lead, support and facilitate leaners throughout their studies to become a Podiatrist.
The role of this post involves all aspects of module leadership, preparation and delivery of teaching and learning activity on various aspects of the podiatry course including the delivery of clinical skills, personal tutoring, student recruitment, assessment and support of students in placement. The successful candidates will be expected to actively engage in the promotion of all aspects of the student experience with a commitment to inclusive practice, innovative teaching and research activities within Podiatry in order to contribute towards the podiatry portfolio and the profile of the Faculty.
There will also be contribution to aspects of teaching and learning on the direct entry BSc (Hons) Podiatry course, allied health inter-professional modules and relevant post-registration CPD courses as required. You will need to be committed to the maintenance of high academic standards and enhancement of the student experience and be prepared to contribute to the development of the faculty’s portfolio of courses, linking with relevant external partners, and the generation of external income for the university.
The successful applicant will have extensive experience and knowledge of podiatry practice and will be familiar with the requirements of the podiatrist. Effective teamwork and excellent communication skills are essential. Experience of teaching in a clinical or academic setting is essential and candidates with a research profile are welcomed. Dedication to innovative teaching and research activities within podiatry practice are also a requirement of the post, to contribute towards the podiatry portfolio and the profile of the faculty.
You will preferably have completed, or be willing to work towards, a master’s qualification. You will hold current registration with the HCPC as a podiatrist and have significant clinical experience. If you do not already hold a post-graduate certificate in education, you will be supported to complete this as a mandatory requirement of your future employment.
