Salary: £28,753.54 plus excellent benefits
Schedule: 2 days (12 hours 07:00-19:00) / 2 nights (12 hours 19:00-07:00) / 4 days stand down (includes 1 rostered duty cover shift)
What you’ll do as a Security Officer
You’ll be entrusted to support the RAF’s largest operational base by delivering essential access, security, and traffic services. Your work will ensure colleagues, visitors, and contractors experience a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment.
* Provide a professional and friendly welcome to all visitors and colleagues.
* Control vehicle and pedestrian access, checking identification and passes with accuracy.
* Assist with security searches and emergency response when required.
* Maintain accurate logs, records, and incident reports.
* Deliver vehicle escort duties and traffic management services across the base.
* Airfield pass check.
Is this you?
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
* Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence training and UK Security Vetting (UKSV) clearance, or the ability to obtain it without issues.
* A full UK manual driving licence (maximum six points).
* Ability to meet the colour perception requirement for an Airfield Driving Permit.
* Excellent communication skills and a positive, customer‑focused mindset.
* Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work 12‑hour day and night shifts.
You must obtain UKSV Security Clearance (SC), which includes detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for secure environments. UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
