Overview
Join Serco as a Fleet Mechanic in Winchester, KY. We support a large utility fleet by operating, diagnosing and repairing light duty vehicles, medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks, and other equipment.
Responsibilities
* Perform operational and functional inspections, repairs and maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment.
* Perform inspections, repair and maintenance operations on a variety of powered and non-powered equipment and vehicles.
* Work on a diverse set of equipment including mowers, cranes, backhoes, trailers, trenchers, bulldozers, excavators, diggers and pole setting equipment, aerial manlifts, cranes, medium and heavy trucks and mounted/non-mounted attachments.
* Operate and diagnose equipment, maintain and repair hydraulic systems, replace hydraulic lines, check for leaks and proper operation.
* Diagnose and repair complex electrical systems.
* Perform minor welding repairs in a field environment.
* Perform routine preventive maintenance inspections, DOT inspections, and fluid checks, and verify lights and other electrical components.
* Provide clear and accurate information when entering work order data into a fleet maintenance system.
* Demonstrate creativity and initiative; work under general supervision as a self-starter.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will have:
* At least 5 years of related experience
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Valid driver's license with a good driving record
* Computer literate
* Effective communication with customers
* Ability to operate and interpret diagnostic equipment
* Welding experience
* Possess or be able to obtain Class B CDL within 45 days of employment
* Valid DOT Medical Examiner Certificate (MEC), Form MCSA-5876
Additional desired experience and skills
* Diesel vocational/technical school certifications
* ASE Certifications or capable of gaining certifications
* Hydraulic experience
