We are seeking to appoint a maternity cover Teaching Assistant / 1-1 to support the Class Teacher at Twydall Primary School across the Key Stages from Foundation Stage to Year 6. This may involve working with a class or supporting a child on a more intensive basis, providing 1-1 support. You may also be required to deliver intervention programmes under the direction of the Inclusion Manager. This is a maternity cover role for 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term Time plus 5 days).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide teaching support in small groups and where necessary work with individual pupils to the highest standards
2. Assist the implementation of individual programmes for pupils and help monitor their progress
3. Undertake specific duties identified by the class teacher
4. Maintain a positive, supportive attitude within a team
Requirements:
5. NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)
6. Experience of working with children with SEN including physical difficulties would be advantageous
7. Understanding of children with different behavioural needs
8. Ability to work independently or as part of a team
9. Possess a desire to help all children achieve their best
10. Have a caring nature and a deep regard for children
11. Enthusiastic, energetic and adaptable
12. Excellent communication skills
