We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the automotive logistics sector, who are seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join their busy team in Upper Heyford.
This is a fast-paced and high-pressure role, ideal for someone who is highly organised, confident working with international stakeholders, and able to manage critical processes accurately within tight deadlines.
The Role
Reporting to the Account Services Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating the release and delivery of imported vehicles through the logistics process.
A major focus of the role will involve managing vehicle release codes for vehicles arriving from overseas. Accuracy and urgency are critical, as delays in obtaining release approvals can directly impact operational costs and vehicle movements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and monitor the release process for imported vehicles arriving into the UK
2. Liaise with overseas stakeholders via email and telephone to obtain vehicle release codes
3. Escalate any missing or delayed release approvals to senior management promptly
4. Ensure vehicle movements are coordinated efficiently and within agreed timelines
5. Manage bookings, updates, and operational records accurately
6. Liaise with drivers and internal teams to support smooth vehicle deliveries
7. Monitor KPIs and highlight any risks or delays to management
8. Manage inboxes, queries, and operational communications professionally
9. Support with reporting, administration, and wider logistics coordination tasks
What We’re Looking For:
10. Previous administration or logistics coordination experience
11. Strong computer skills with the ability to work quickly and accurately across multiple systems
12. Excellent organisational and communication skills
13. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
14. Confident communicating with internal and external stakeholders
15. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time-critical tasks
16. Proactive and tenacious approach to problem solving
17. Full UK Driving Licence and access to own transport (essential)
