Operations Coordination Manager

At Northern Security Ltd, we are looking for a confident operational leader to take ownership of our 24/7 control room, managing incidents, coordinating staffing, and keeping services running in real time across multiple sites.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable making decisions under pressure, and can bring structure and consistency to a critical operational function.
You will lead the Control Room team, take ownership of real-time decision making, and ensure service continuity across all contracts. This is a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly and where strong leadership makes a real difference.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support Control Room Coordinators and Operators within a 24/7 environment
* Act as the primary escalation point for incidents, operational issues, and staffing gaps
* Maintain service continuity across all client sites and contracts
* Coordinate rotas, workforce planning, and contingency cover
* Manage and resolve shift gaps caused by absence or operational demand
* Oversee control room systems including CCTV, access control, and alarm monitoring
* Monitor incident trends, staffing data, and performance metrics to drive improvements
* Ensure compliance with health & safety, operational standards, and audit requirements
* Support training, onboarding, and development of control room staff
* Work closely with HR and Operations to align recruitment and workforce needs
What We're Looking For
Essential
* Proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure operational environment
* Ability to make confident decisions during live operational situations
* Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Experience managing rotas, staffing, or workforce coordination
* A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on service delivery and standards
Desirable
* Experience in a control room, security, monitoring, or dispatch environment
* Background in sectors such as logistics, distribution, manufacturing, facilities, or emergency response
* Familiarity with CCTV, access control, or integrated systems
Qualifications (Desirable)
* Level 4 qualification (or equivalent experience) in Operations, Management, or Security
* SIA Licence or CCTV qualification
* IOSH or Health & Safety certification
