Buyer
Location: West Malling (Office:based with potential flexible working options)
Join us as a Buyer, where youll play a pivotal role in material cost control and financial reporting. Working alongside our Senior Buyer, you will take full accountability for the procurement performance of your assigned sites, ensuring quality and value at every stage.
The Role

Procurement and Negotiation: Consolidate material purchases, negotiate supplier agreements, and leverage group deals for maximum economic benefit.

Cost Management: Prepare material schedules (CPC1), manage budgets for surveyors, and resolve invoice discrepancies.
*
Project Delivery: Take off materials from drawings, manage tender processes, and coordinate with Site Managers to ensure deliveries align with construction programmes.
*
Market Analysis: Monitor market trends and price movements to recommend specification changes that drive savings without compromising quality.
What Were Looking For
*
Experience: A proven background in a purchasing role, ideally within construction.
*
Skills: Commercially astute, highly numeric, and proficient in managing multiple projects under pressure.
*
Communication: Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Technical and Desirable
*
Systems: Proficiency in MS Office; experience with COINS or bid:writing software is a plus.
*
Knowledge: Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and regulations.
*
Qualifications: CIPS membership (or working towards it) is desirable.
