Position Job Purpose (Role Definition): This pivotal role, serves as the linchpin for all things IT, providing all technical support and guidance to internal users while spearheading interactions with third-party suppliers. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Delivering comprehensive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support to internal users Orchestrate seamless server upgrades and migrations when required Facilitate software and hardware upgrades within budgetary constraints Asset Management: Oversee the management of the company's internet and IT assets, ensuring all equipment is maintained to the highest standards Vendor Relations: Maintain relationships with IT partners to ensure effective communication and development opportunities for the business Collaborate with external vendors and managing projects, including system implementations. Technical Support: Provide IT support to staff, handling diagnosis and troubleshooting of hardware and software faults. Reporting: Produce reports for senior management and contribute to strategic planning for IT. Email and Domain Management: Manage the company's email accounts and domain names. Induction Support: Assist in the induction of new staff by providing equipment, software configuration, and IT systems training. Ensure robust cybersecurity measures are in place to safeguard the business against potential threats. Coordinating global IT policies and practices. Management Responsibilities: Your daily responsibilities as IT Systems Manager will be to manage the small IT team, IT budgets & business strategy and support the Digital Optimisation Team Leader in overseeing the whole of IT for the business covering both infrastructure, applications, and data. You will be responsible for governance, data management and security, contract management, IT strategy, performance management etc. As this is managing a relatively small team you must be comfortable being hands-on. Requirements Experience and Qualifications Required: Mandatory: Excellent support experience. Proficiency in 1st & 2nd Line User Support, including Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, and Office. Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows 10 & 7 environments. Experience with server management, Active Directory, Veeam Backup, SQL, and Microsoft Server. Familiarity with LAN and WAN networks, including troubleshooting and VLAN configuration. Ability to manage 3rd party vendors and maintain comprehensive technical documentation. Proven experience in IT system management and system monitoring. Desirable: Familiarity with ecommerce platforms and website management Manufacturing/Engineering company experience Project management skills with experience in digital transformation projects Key Skills and Competencies: Technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
