We’re looking for a passionate, people-focused Tutor to join our Project SEARCH team – a life-changing supported internship programme for young adults with additional needs. This isn’t your average teaching role. You’ll be based at Amazon, working hands-on with a small cohort of 18–25-year-olds, helping them transition from education into meaningful employment. This is a term-time role.
You will:
1. Empower young adults with SEND to thrive in real-world work placements at Amazon and beyond.
2. Deliver engaging sessions that blend employability skills with essential maths and English – think less textbook, more toolkit.
3. Coach and mentoring students in the workplace using Systematic Instruction – guiding them through challenges and celebrating their wins.
4. Collaborate with employers like Amazon, Swindon Borough Council, and Great Western Hospital to create inclusive, supportive environments.
5. Set SMART goals that inspire progress and build confidence.
6. Track progress and making sure every hour of support counts – literally and figuratively.
7. Be the bridge between education and employment, between potential and opportunity.
You will need:
8. A teaching qualification (or acquire one during employment).
9. Experience working with young people with additional needs.
10. A knack for building relationships – with students, employers, and colleagues alike.
11. A belief in the power of education to transform lives.
12. A sense of humour, a sense of purpose, and a serious commitment to inclusion.
