Role Overview
We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician to join a global life science and speciality chemicals manufacturing business. The site is undergoing significant investment for the future, including manufacturing equipment and infrastructure. The role will be based in Staffordshire, working days Monday to Friday with an on-call rota out of hours.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. As the Maintenance Technician, you will be part of a small, multi-skilled team, performing routine and preventative maintenance procedures. You will troubleshoot and repair mechanical or electrical problems with manufacturing processes and supporting equipment and systems.
2. Ensure all activities are completed in a timely manner, including associated paperwork, complying with engineering and production schedules. Maintain high safety, health, and environmental standards.
3. Perform day-to-day tasks that vary based on priorities, working closely with maintenance, operations, quality, and engineering teams.
4. Interact with specialised external contractors to ensure production operates safely and efficiently.
Role Requirements
1. Hold a recognised mechanical or electrical engineering qualification at minimum Level 3, such as a Diploma or equivalent.
2. Ideally have experience working within a process or chemical manufacturing environment.
3. Knowledge of steam generation and distribution systems, pressure systems, and safety controls is beneficial. Also, knowledge of instrumentation for pressure, temperature, and flow.
