Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Epilepsy Clinical Nurse Specialist (Band 7) to join our dedicated epilepsy service at Frimley Park Hospital on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract. Working as part of an established multidisciplinary team, including Epilepsy Specialist Nurses and an Epilepsy Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care for individuals living with epilepsy.
Responsibilities
* Supporting patients with new diagnoses, coordinating care across hospital and community settings, and acting as the primary point of contact via the dedicated epilepsy advice line.
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients both in the community and during hospital admissions, ensuring continuity and a seamless care experience.
* Proactive management to reduce avoidable hospital admissions and readmissions by developing and promoting robust care pathways.
* Contribute to service development, patient education, and professional training to enhance the quality and accessibility of epilepsy care.
* Identify and nurture Epilepsy Champions within the community—helping to build networks that improve awareness, patient outcomes, and long-term support for individuals with epilepsy.
* Work across outpatient clinics, community settings, and through the dedicated epilepsy advice line to deliver expert, patient-centred care to a diverse and often vulnerable group of individuals living with epilepsy.
* Collaborate with Consultant Neurologists and the wider multidisciplinary team to adopt a holistic approach to care, supporting patients and their families to understand and manage their condition effectively.
